Why it’s Worth Applying to Law School in April

Are you thinking of throwing in the towel on your plans to start law school this fall just because you’ve been told it’s too late in the cycle to apply? Well, think again!

With the April LSAT just around the corner, there are still plenty of reasons to give it a shot. Here are five reasons why it’s worth giving it one last college try:

1. Most April LSAT test-takers are first-timers - Last April, there were 13.5K test-takers and 7.7K of them were first-timers. This means that you won't be alone in taking the test for the first time.

2. Many schools will accept your application and wait for your LSAT scores if you don’t have an official test on file already. This means that you can still apply and take the LSAT in April and have your scores sent directly to the schools.

Below are six T-50 schools with applications in April:

3. Some schools will hold consideration for new scores if you have some on file but you’re already registered for another test. This means that if you have already taken the LSAT but are registered for the April test, schools may wait for your April scores to come in before making a decision.

4. Everybody has between a 0% and 100% chance of getting into every law school. The statistics may seem daunting, but everyone has a shot at getting into law school. Don’t let the numbers discourage you from applying.

5. Why not you? With determination and hard work, there’s no reason why you couldn’t be accepted into the law school of your choice.

It's common for applicants to apply late in the cycle, and it's not a barrier to being considered for admission.
